Zengeler Cleaners Introduces New Cleaning Services

Bedding and linens now cleaned at Zengeler’s local production facilities

Northbrook, IL, July 7, 2009: Zengeler Cleaners, the Midwest’s oldest and largest cleaner, recently upgraded its cleaning and processing capabilities to add bedding and linens to the services now cleaned at its own facilities. These services were added by the 152-year old family owned cleaning company to provide faster, more efficient service for its 20,000+ customers. Zengeler Cleaners has seven locations in Lake and northern Cook Counties.

“Our family has provided full service cleaning for customers since our founding in 1857,” noted Tom Zengeler, the fifth-generation leader of the historic company. “When deciding how to provide each service, we’ve always kept our customers’ best interests foremost in the decision-making process. With that in mind, we felt the time was right to bring these services ‘in-house.’ Our new equipment allows us to do that by cleaning linens and bedding in our own production facilities in a high-quality, cost-effective manner. We believe this translates into better service for loyal Zengeler Cleaners customers.”

The biggest benefit for customers will be faster and more efficient service. “We’ve cleaned linens, sheets, comforters, duvet covers, sheets, pillow cases and the like for years,” he continued. “These services were previously provided by business partners and were scheduled as needed, in batches. Our new production facilities allow us to clean these items as they come in, reducing the time from drop off to pick up. That’s critical because rapid turnaround is important for both our individual and corporate clients.”

The new equipment was part of an extensive capital reinvestment by Zengeler Cleaners over the past three years. The wide-ranging improvements include everything from equipment upgrades to store remodeling. Consistent with the Zengeler family’s commitment to being a responsible partner in the community, a significant cost of the improvements was the addition of environmentally conscious equipment that makes more efficient use of resources such as cleaning fluids, electricity and water.
